Getting there: Airport transfers can be organised from the airport to the hotel for a surcharge. Blue and white taxis are the only taxis permitted in the city centre and typical rates should be around EGP 40-50 to Sharm El Sheikh. The government fixes taxi fares and the prices should be shown in taxis’ window. The fare should be agreed before departing. Price subject to change.
Getting around: The best way to get around Sharm El Sheikh and the surrounding South Sinai area is by taxi. Negotiating the price before getting into the taxi is recommended. Local buses also serve the area but are often overcrowded. A car would be useful to explore further afield.
